Chapter One
“Hey, did you know there’s a new girl in our grade?” my cousin Ryan whispered to me across the aisle in first period geometry.
“No. There is?” I answered.
Ryan smiled. “Yeah, and well, she’s pretty cute...” he winked at me. I sighed and rolled my eyes and turned back to my bellwork problems before Mr. Andrews could scold us for talking. Ryan knew that I wasn't the most straight person to ever exist, so he kept bothering me about certain girls. He was staring at me, trying to distract me. I glanced at him and he raised his eyebrows in a sarcastic
Prolouge
There are few things in life as wonderful as falling blissfully into the sea of innocent, adolescent love. Bliss, however, is something typically compared to ignorance, and it wasn’t until I had a reason to break up with Mark Nelson that I realized why. When you spend all your childhood growing up with the other children laughing at you and excluding you, joking about “Kelsey germs”, and setting up a “schedule” so that you can only talk to them on Tuesdays and Thursdays, you start to believe that there are just some people who were born under the wrong stars and just don’t have the best life picke
The moon’s silky silver
Pulls my heart’s puppet strings
My love for you as fickle as the oceans
For the moon pulls me with the tides
Close to you,
Close to your warmth
And sharply away again
Before I get burnt
Mist hangs in the air like words left unspoken
Drifting through my mind as I walk alone
4 feet have turned to two
As I always knew
They would
My hand in my pocket instead of in yours
Watching as the greens become
Yellows and oranges
Flames
Falling to the ground to burn the memories
Of seasons past
The drops of summer rain
Once fell upon our lips
Now the crisp autumn wind
Bites the hand that you loved to kiss
When you were mine
When I was yours
Now I am my own lost soul
Because your recipe for the future
Didn’t call for the girl of your summer
And so I weave you out of my story
For pages must be turned
And our days

The Anthem of the Arts Kid
Your heart is pounding
Your lips are dry
Your voice trembles and cracks
It shatters and breaks
But you cannot hear
For the red hot blood in your ears
Drowns the world in its silky scarlet
20 pairs of glazed eyes stare
Back at you
Back at your awkward stance
And your shaking knees
You itch to glance
Over your shoulder
You itch to check the time
Has it been 3 minutes
Or 3 hours?
Or 3 days?
Meanwhile, I stand before
200 or more
Anonymous observers
Cloaked in the deepest black
Contrasting the blinding whiteness
My voice is strong, it does not bend
It certainly does not break
My stance is certain
Confident
Bold
Memorized words
Pour from my tongu

A Different Kind of Magic- Chapter Two.
"He was a terribly evil and very powerful so most people were afraid to speak his name." I explained, looking at my hands and picking off imaginary dirt from beneath my fingernails.
The Doctor looked me in the eye.
"And what was his name?" The Doctor asked me carefuly, unsure whether I was comfortable with the name or not.
"His real name was Tom Marvolo Riddle, but he called himself Lord Voldemort," I whispered, speaking slowly and barely being able to choke out the name. The Doctor looked at me, his head tilted to the side, as if he were pondering something.
"You just said his name..." he said as if he were thinking aloud.
"It's been a

A Different Kind of Magic- Chapter One.
I walked down Hogsmeade's main road with my two best friends, Anna Hollingsworth and Mikayla Jones. We had just finished our 7th year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was hard to believe that I'd be off on my own in a few years after I finished training to work for both the Auror's office and St.Mungo's, examining bodies found at crime scenes and figuring out what magic was used on them and who did it. My half-siblings from Camp-Halfblood told me the Muggles called those people medical examiners.
I was Claimed in the girl's lavoratory during my second year. I had no idea what was going on. It was a weekend, and I was wearing
Give me a candle's flame to kill
Or a bird's bone to break
For what I wish today
And all other days
Is to feel the warmth of your armor
Blanketing my frigid soul
